I'm currently on vacation, but hello to the blog world!  My brain isn't functioning up to its full capacity so I'm going to call it a day.  In the meantime, follow along on instagram and snapchat (user: seeannajane) for some fun.

Have a great weekend!

Summer in the City (See Jane Wear)

Zara dress (old but similar here and here and here), M Gemi mules,
Brixton hat (also love this one), BP bandana, Chloé bag, Celine sunglasses
The hat says, 'I'm going to the beach' but the mules say, 'a city beach."  Therefore, this is my perfect 'summer in the city' outfit.

Thanks again for the Cape Cod recommendations on instagram!  I'm headed there this week and if you have any others, please comment below.  Have a great week.

Non-Maternity, Maternity Style (See Jane Wear)

Look 1 // Look 2 // Look 3
I receive a lot of questions about maternity style and while I've bought some maternity-specific items, you can actually get a TON of leverage out of your current wardrobe.  The pictures above are from my last pregnancy and this pregnancy so my advice is to get creative with your wardrobing and invest in the following that you can wear now, during pregnancy and postpartum.

maternity jeans - buck up and get some that you love.  You'll wear them..a lot.  And you'll be a lot more comfortable for it (plus, if you get pregnant again, you'll really wear them a lot!).  My favorites are DL1961, Paige and H&M.

oversized tops - you'll love them before pregnancy and you'll love them postpartum, too.  When I start to really get big, I'll borrow Eric's casual oxfords.  If you don't want to buy maternity specific tops, just buy some in brands you love and make sure they run long so that they'll cover the bump.  I'm all about the buy now, wear now AND later.  My favorites are from Sea, Vince, and Madewell.

light jackets + open cardigans - again, you can wear these during pregnancy and once you've bounced back, too!  I lived in open cardigans after I had Harry, too--great for lounging around the house when you're taking care of baby and/or nursing.  My favorites are James Perse, Soft Joie, and Barefoot Dreams.

all the dresses you can handle - this pregnancy is different than when I was carrying Harry because it was winter!  I'm taking advantage of the whole 'don't have to wear pants...EVER' situation by stockpiling dresses.  I'm seriously collecting them.  The good thing is that lots of loose dresses are in style and I can order my same size.  I have A LOT of favorites in this category but these dresses by Current/Elliott, Chelsea28, Joie,  and Wayf.

When In Doubt (See Jane Wear)

jimmy choo vernie
shirt (similar here and here), jeans (similar maternity jeans),
shoes (also here and similar), sunglasses, Chloé bag
I receive a lot of questions about maternity style and trust me, although this is my second pregnancy, I'm still learning along the way.  My advice is to always keep it simple and keep your maternity-specific purchases minimal.  Like it or not, your body changes and you won't necessarily be wearing your favorite high-waisted skinny jeans two weeks after giving birth.  Try not to focus on the sizes, but rather, the longevity of the items you're purchasing while pregnant.  I have a more tactical post coming up on what exactly I buy while pregnant but in general, I keep it simple in maternity jeans and oversized tops (if I'm not wearing dresses).  Protip: wear a man's oxford (your husband/boyfriend's works!) with skinny jeans and some fun shoes to feel like a million bucks.

Summer of Dresses (See Jane Wear)

Isabel Marant dress (similar here and here and shop white shift dresses HERE), Celine sunglasses (shop cat eye sunglasses HERE), Mansur Gavriel tote (shop camel totes HERE), Steve Madden heels (shop Steve Madden HERE)
I'm all about the dresses.  It's too hot for pants and I don't want to try covering this bump with a shirt that rides up.  Sure, you'll see some pants/shorts from here on out, but if you want to place a bet, bet that I'll be wearing a dress next time you see me.

Third Piece (See Jane Wear)

iro jacket azure
Paige flares (shop more white flare jeans HERE),  IRO jacket (shop more IRO jackets HERE), rag & bone tee,
Belly band (shop more maternity pants HERE), mules (shop mules HERE), Saint Laurent sunglasses,
Chanel boy bag
I don't want to go on and on about my guidelines for maternity dressing, but third pieces are key.  Third pieces are essentially light jackets--blazers, leather jackets, knit jackets, etc.  You can wear them (open) with any size of pregnancy AND pre/post baby, so I feel comfortable investing in them any time of year.  These photos are from springtime when I was early in my pregnancy but I wore the jacket yesterday, six months into carrying this baby.  In fact, my non-pregnant friend wore the exact same outfit (photo evidence here)--so she's bought into third pieces, as well.

Dressing the Bump 101 (See Jane Wear)

Zara dress (similar here, here and shop more off the shoulder dresses HERE),
M Gemi mules (shop mules HERE), Chanel bag (shop vintage Chanel HERE)
Dressing a growing bump can be downright taxing.  My rule of thumb is to continue to show off the part of your body that you want to flaunt (for some, that's the bump itself! But I've never been one to wear super tight clothing so it can feel a tad unnatural to me).  For me, it's my legs and shoulders.  They generally stay the same size when I'm pregnant and I still feel like me--which can be hard when you're growing another person.

Lucky for me, off the shoulder dresses are still having a moment; you'll be seeing this silhouette on me a lot this summer, I'm afraid.

Some other favorites are here, here, here, here and here.

Ex-School Girl (See Jane Wear)

old J Crew skirt (similar here and here), IRO blazer (shop white blazers here), Gap tank (shop basic tanks here),
Zara loafers (similar and shop loafers here), Chanel bag (shop Chanel bags here)
I can't help my love of pleated skirts and loafers; four years of an all-girls Catholic high school will do that to you.  It's like they program a love for these things into you--along with the color navy, all plaids, superior sign-making skills and a penchant for girls' nights.

Summer Swing (See Jane Wear)

Rails dress (similar here and here), sandals (similar here and here), sunglasses (similar), Clare V clutch, NARS 'vesuvio' lips
Even if you're not pregnant, summer dressing is all about lightness and ease.  This chambray dress from Nordstrom swings and moves with my bump so I'll be able to wear it all summer.  In fact, every summer wardrobe should have a chambray dress--and Nordstrom has some really adorable options.  I paired this one with some easy accessories from Nordstrom and was good to go; it really is versatile.  Now if only a chambray dress could do my laundry and cook every night, then I'd really be set.

Thank you to Nordstrom for partnering with this post!

Insta-Daily (See Jane Insta)

I don't document EVERYTHING I wear, but I sure come close.  However, not everything gets a pretty photo (taken by Iron + Honey - she makes me look good); some are just iPhone snaps when I'm on the go or at work.  In case you don't follow along on instagram, here's what I've been wearing:

rag & bone shirt (on sale), DL1961 maternity jeans, Soludo espadrilles,
Chloé bag,
Celine sunglasses
Zara dress (similar here and here), M Gemi sandals
Theory dress (similar)
IRO dress, Dolce vita mules
Rebecca Taylor dress (old but similar here and here), M Gemi sandals
