Simple Jewels (See Jane Wear)

Old Navy dress, Kendra Scott necklace (c/o), Kendra Scott bracelet (c/o) + bangle stacks, Chloe heels, Clare V clutch
You might know by know that I'm a minimalist when it comes to jewelry--the same diamond studs, the same watch, day in and day out.  Kendra Scott is known for her dazzling, statement jewelry pieces (which, as a jewelry novice, can intimidate me) but I'm impressed by the summer 2016 line.  She has great, new pieces that are minimalistic perfection (in various metals) that are made for someone like me.  She still has the bold, fancy necklaces that go great with a party dress but I love the soft, simple metals that van virtually go with any look.  Be sure to check it out for yourself!

*Thank you to Kendra Scott for partnering with this post!

On the Fringe (See Jane Wear)

ASOS duster (similar here and here), H&M fringe top (similar here and here),
J Brand jeans (DIY, similar here and here), Stuart Weitzman heels, YSL sunglasses + bag
(Disclaimer:  all oldies but goodies shown in this post.)

Trenches, dusters, coats, whatever--I'll take it.  In a climate like Chicago, you have to have an arsenal of coats to deal with this weather.  Much to Eric's dismay, I use our third bedroom as a coat closet.  but really when one day is winter and the next day is summer, you need to have everything on hand and NOT in storage, am I right?

(I last wore the duster here and cut an old pair of jeans off to look like this pair.)

Bébé, Part Deux (See Jane Bump)

If you follow me on instagram, you might know that baby #2 is on the way...due end of September 2016!

I know!  I'm excited.  I grew up the youngest of four children and absolutely loved having so many siblings.  However, my sibling closest in age is five years--my big sister, Emily; I felt like an only child a bit growing up because everyone had gone away to college and moved away by the time I was in 8th grade.  We're all very close, but I always wanted my kids to be close in age.  Harry will be 2.5 years older than his new sibling--he is going to love it.  He absolutely loves my nephews and niece and all babies--I can't wait!

Can't wait to show you all a little maternity style along the way...

Casual Sheath Dress (See Jane Wear)

Theory dress (shop Theory dresses HERE), Soia + Kyo trench, Zara heels (similar),
Saint Laurent sunglasses (shop YSL sunglasses HERE) + bag

I hadn't pulled this dress out in awhile (since HERE) but good to know that a nice, stretchy tube dress still gets the job done when you want to look pulled together but have two seconds to get ready and out the door.  A sheath has never steered me wrong--it was my fail-safe when I was working in the corporate world and I still gravitate towards them in a casual work place.

White Blazer (See Jane Wear)

IRO blazer (shop white blazers HERE), T by Wang top, Frame jeans (shop Frame HERE),
ShoeMint mules (old but similar), Saint Laurent bag, Celine sunglasses
White blazers, how do I love thee?  Want to feel fresh?  Throw on a white blazer.  Want to will spring to come?  Put on your white blazer.  Going to a toddler's birthday party?  Definitely don't wear that white blazer.

And here's the best news: there's a white blazer for every budget out there.  My favorites are J Crew, rag & bone, James Jeans, TopShop, Veronica Beard, and Mural.

Zara top (similar), Goldsign flares (similar here and here), Celine sunglasses
Boho just isn't my all the time style, but I DO like to play around with it. With the emergence of all things 70s and every brand coming out with their own version of the bell sleeve, it's tough to ignore.  So for now, I'm boho...sometimes.  Like bi-weekly.

Also, Shopbop's friends + family sale starts tomorrow, but is open today for registered users (use code INTHEFAM).  I personally have my eye on: anything VEDA, white lace dresses, IRO jackets, and platform sandals.  Scroll down to the end of the post for a fun giveaway...
