Perfect Poncho (See Jane Wear)

Theory poncho (also in brick here), Frame jeans, Manolo Blahnik heels,
Saint Laurent bag
+ sunglasses, Gap belt
Is this a poncho?  A wrap sweater?  A blanket?  A slip 'n slide?  Well, whatever it is, it's warm and invites lots of comments from perfect strangers.  Help me think of a few other things I can tell people what it is when they ask (in the comments below!).

(Also, I bought this poncho during friends & family, but you can shop less expensive versions here.)

Dark Berry (See Jane Wear)

topshop lace pencil skirt
Topshop skirt (also here), Club Monaco sweater (old but similar here and here),
J Crew heels (old but similar here and here), Chanel boy bag, Saint Laurent sunglasses (on sale!), MAC 'Rebel'
I've worn this skirt three times in about ten days.  I originally bought it for a rehearsal dinner but ended up wearing it to a presentation I gave at my alma mater and then to ANOTHER rehearsal dinner this past weekend.  I might try and make it work for another wedding this upcoming weekend. It's been featured on my instagram a LOT (because hey, that's real life, right?) so be sure to follow along!

(Last time I wore a pencil skirt, if you're interested, HERE)

Formal Black Jumpsuit (See Jane Wear)

vince wide leg jumpsuit
Vince jumpsuit (also here), J Crew heels (similar), Bauble Bar earrings, Chanel bag
I may never wear a dress to a wedding again.  Ok, fine, I'm wearing one this weekend and the one after that, but come 2016, it's jumpsuits for me from here on out!  Seriously, I could move so freely and eat so heartily; I'm a formal jumpsuit convert.

Past Octobers (See Jane Wear)

Isn't it funny to watch your style evolve?  Sometimes, I think, 'nailed it."  While other times, I think--
'wow, I can't believe I had friends at that point in life.'

Let's take a stroll, shall we?

October 2014:  I wasn't yet back to my fighting weight after having Harry, but was anxious to get back into the fashion swing of things.  I feel no embarrassment for this outfit and would wear it again tomorrow.

October 2013:  I was pregnant but hadn't yet told anyone (I must've been about 13 weeks here).  This is one of my post popular Pinterest outfits, funnily enough.  I remember picking it out that day and thinking I belonged on Pinterest in this get up because I was wearing so many trends at once--leopard, leather, stripes, ripped jeans, oh my!  I most likely wouldn't wear this exact outfit again, but would be game for a toned down version--must be the mom in me coming out.

October 2012:  It's ironic that I claimed in this post that I didn't want to "look straight out of October 2012."  Well, I do, but that's ok.  You have NO idea how much I wanted those Theory leather leggings.  I hemmed and hawed over them for a year before finally biting the bullet and guess what?  I still love them.  This outfit is alright--I have a bit of buyer's remorse over that pink Mulberry purse, but live and learn, right!?

October 2011: Holy Toledo--remember glitter booties?  Of course you do..they still sell them Well, four years ago, I MADE these.  I must say, I still wear most of the pieces in this photo..except the glitter booties (can you blame me?).  This is a perfectly preppy look and I have no qualms with it, except for the sparkly shoes.  I've been blogging so long that bucket bags have been in twice already.

Fall Wish List (See Jane Crave)

I know, I know--another wish list on just another blog.  But I'm such an informed consumer that such clout must mean something, right?  I think about clothes all day long--it's my job!  Anyway, I'm just like so many other hot-blooded women out there and I love to shop.  Lucky for me, the Shopbop Friends & Family sale is happening, because who doesn't love a deal right?  It's fall which means new items are always coming in; it's really my favorite.

A few more things I'm after that can excite my current wardrobe situation:
- mock turtleneck (yes, I'm aware I have a problem)

Happy shopping!  Tell me what you're buying, too (not that I need to add to my list or anything).

Striped Top (See Jane Wear)

gray outfit, stripe shirt, jeans
rag & bone jeans, Zara striped top (old but similar here and here),
Saint Laurent bag, Manolo Blahnik heels
This outfit is a repeat from an old 'instagram special.'  If you follow me on the world's favorite social media platform, you'll see that I like to document my work outfits, along with tips/tricks and snippets of what I do at Trunk Club (hint: we've launched a women's business!).

Rusty (See Jane Wear)

Veda jacket (shop Veda leather jackets here), ATM tees mock top (shop ATM tees here), ALC skirt,
Steve Madden heels (shop ankle strap heels here),
Chanel bag (shop vintage Chanel here), Saint Laurent sunglasses
I don't like to play favorites, buuuut this jacket gets a little more attention than the rest (last seen here).  He's soft (yes, it's a he) yet sturdy, goes with nearly everything, yet stands out in a crowd--and most importantly, I named him Rusty.  He's everything I want in a suede jacket; I think I like him better than a trusty, ol' leather jacket.  And I honestly never thought he was my type but it's like they say: when you know, you know.

Dusting Up (See Jane Wear)

ASOS duster (shop trench coats here), Paige jeans, Cotton Citizen tee (shop Cotton Citizen Here), Steve Madden heels (shop wrap heels here),
 Saint Laurent bag
(shop grey totes here) + sunglasses
Trust me, I never thought the word 'duster' would be in my repertoire; I much prefer 'drapey trench.' What does the duster do for me?  It's a nice, light jacket that transitions well from summer to fall.  There are a handful of days that occur here in Chicago and they're beautiful--think 69 - 71 degrees Fahrenheit, calm breezes, sunny.  Yeah, those last about two days and then it's drizzly, cold and time for your warmest parka.  Farewell fall days…I hardly knew ye.
