Winter Slump (See Jane Inspired)

1 - texture, texture, texture. keep it interesting with different fabrics during the winter.
2 - black + (insert favorite bright color here) =
3 - make fur casual with sneakers, glasses and messy hair.
4 - off-duty models change up their coats to make similar black, skinny pants look different.

It's about that time of year again.  That time when spring clothing starts to emerge onto the scene and you look at your winter clothes with pure and utter disdain.  Long gone are the days (i.e. end of August) when you couldn't wait watch the leaves turn colors and to begin piling on the layers for the chilly temperatures ahead; you know the time--when cold weather actually seems magical for those few fleeting moments.  No, these are the times that test your patience and if you live in a colder climate, you find yourself asking why you live where you do.

I am in dire need of winter dressing inspiration.  Above are just a couple things I find myself saying every.single.morning.  If I never see another coat again, I'll be fine....that is, until September rolls around again.

  3. this morning i found myself leaving the house in a billowy purple silk blouse, with short(ish) sleeves... basically, the antithesis of the chunky black sweaters i have been wearing the past month. definitely shivering a bit in the office, but needed a change of pace.

  4. Isn't this the truth...I keep looking at my closet and wondering, "Gee, what large oversized sweater am I going to wear today?". I really need to start mixing thing's up. Thanks for the inspiration!

  6. I am feeling the same way right now...the only difference is that I am usually very sad when summer ends because I know I will get this dreaded feeling in just a few months.
