Bits 'n Pieces (See Part of Jane)

Zara coat (old), J Crew cardigan and sweater, J Brand jeans, Chloe boots (spring version here), 3.1 Phillip Lim bag, Eric's beanie
My apologies for the slight radio silence as of late.  Turns out, work takes up most of my time; plus, I was in Mexico for a bit (you may notice a bit of a tan).  Anyway, the weather is still dreary and although spring clothing is taunting me at every turn, I can't quite bite the bullet when it's sleeting/snowing/freezing raining outside.

Duffy sweater, BB Dakota vest, Madewell leather skirt (old but similar), J Crew coat, Enzo Angiolini boots

Geeze, I'm sick of winter just looking at myself.  Is it spring yet?

Blue Jean Baby (See Jane Wear)

Zara jacket (old), J Crew tweed tee, Rag & Bone jeans, 3.1 Phillip Lim bag, J Crew heels, Chanel 'jalousie' lip gloss
Boy, I love denim.  I wear it often--to work, to play...to live.  In these modern times, denim is appropriate for so many occasions.  I love that a pair of distressed jeans can tone down a tweed on tweed ensemble (as shown), that would normally appear somewhat formal.  It may sound like the denim industry is sponsoring this post, but I can assure you, it's not; this is just my pure, unadulterated love for a certain one textile.

Grown Up Grilled Cheese (See Jane Make)

I hesitate describing anything as "grown up" but since I used sriracha in the 'recipe', I deemed it appropriate.  Grilled cheese is possibly my favorite type of sandwich; what's not to love about melted cheese paired with crusty bread that's grilled with sizzling butter?  I love to add avocado for a little more texture and lightly swipe on some mayo combined with a dollop of sriracha   My tip for making a grilled cheese even better: use butter both in the pan AND on the bread and cover the grilled cheese while it cooks--it really melts the cheese.

What do you use to spice up your grilled cheese?  I'm always looking for new additions!

Slouchy (See Jane Wear)

J Crew sweater (old), J Brand jeans,  J Crew heels, 3.1 Phillip Lim bag
I often offset my boyfriend jeans with a feminine or tight-fitting top, but today I was feeling slouchy.  One tip when wearing loose clothing:  keep up your posture as there can only be so much slouch in an outfit.  Also, a pair of heels doesn't hurt, either.

Love Affair (See Jane Travel)

J Crew coat, Equipment sweater, Theory leather leggings, Joie boots, Elizabeth & James fur blazer (Sara's), Gap sunglasses, Celine bag
NYC has long been a favorite place of mine.  I lived there for a short time, loved it immensely and left feeling not quite satiated.  I always felt like I'd live there again, but for now, it's one of my favorite places to visit.  Lucky for me, there's never a shortage of people to visit.

Although I planned my trip around some days of NYFW, I had a poor showing and ended up wandering around (my favorite thing to do) and holed up in restaurants due to the blizzard.  There's always next season!

Jalapeño Popper Dip (See Jane Make)

I see myself as a dip connoisseur.  At any given party, you'll find me near the dips and snacks.  Perhaps my love of dips stems from my early love affair with chips and salsa.  From there it grew into guacamole, Lick-a-maid or Dunka-roos; if you could dip it, I'd eat it.  Even as my palette has refined, my love of potluck and party dips hasn't waned.

This past Superbowl, I wanted to bring a dip that I'd tasted but never attempted to make.  Enter: the most delicious jalapeño popper dip.  I modified this recipe and made my own topping of panko breadcrumbs and butter.  (Also, I only used monterey jack cheese, left out the onions and added a can of green chilies). Please observe the Frito "scoops" I used for the most enjoyable dipping experience.  I must warn you that there is absolutely nothing healthy or nutritious about this dip, so please enjoy accordingly.

Casual Before The Storm (See Jane Wear)

Zara sweater, Banana Republic shirt, J Brand jeans, Target socks, Gap booties, Karen Walker sunglasses, 3.1 Phillip Lim bag
I'm staying comfortable and wearing casual clothes early this week because I'm headed to NYC on Thursday and know I'll be dressing a bit fancier.  That's right, I'm keeping it casual before the fancy storm hits NYC.

Have a great week!
