Salted Hot Chocolate (See Jane Make + Drink)

While the rest of you are partaking in merriment during the next few weeks, there may be days when you need to dry out from the alcohol.  Luckily, I can help you with this, as pregnancy is keeping me away from all things booze.  While salted hot chocolate isn't quite the same as champagne, it'll suffice for now.  Top it with marshmallows or whipped cream (or both, if you're feeling saucy)--there's no wrong way!
4 cups milk
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 cup white sugar
1 T vanilla
1/2 t sea salt
crushed candy canes (optional)
whipped cream (optional)

In a saucepan, heat milk, cocoa powder and sugar until it starts to lightly boil.  Turn down to very low and simmer while adding vanilla and sea salt.

Nothing beats homemade hot chocolate, especially topped with whip cream and peppermint! So good!
