Since I work at a fashion start-up, I’m suddenly surrounded by plaids, wools and other fall textures; it’s hard not to assimilate even though the weather is still warm. Leather will be back in full force again this fall and every time I pull out this skirt, I’m so glad I purchased it a couple years ago. It’s almost season-less since I’m able to wear it so often. When I bought it back in 2011, it seemed like a somewhat frivolous purchase (how many times will I wear a leather skirt, I thought), but I’m glad I bit the bullet–it’s a closet staple for me.

@rebecca – either! it just depends on the dominant colors in your closet. personally, i wear more neutrals and navys than black so the cognac/brown worked better for me.

I have a similar skirt from Anthropologie and I am always amazed and how much wear it gets- I am not exactly a leather skirt type of gal. It looks great with a thin, old tshirt but can also be office appropriate.
And I am ready for fall in Chicago too 🙂
