A Very Bully Christmas (See Jane's Dog)

Jerome + Mabel (his sister and my sister in law's dog!)
Ever since Eric and I welcomed little Jerome, the English Bulldog, into our home this past summer, he's quickly become a very important member of the family.  That's the thing about pets:  if I walk into my apartment in a gloomy mood or after a bad work day, his droopy face instantly lifts my spirits. You've maybe noticed that I'm a tad infatuated with my pet (as evidenced here and on my instagram); so it wouldn't be crazy to say that on Christmas Eve, I spontaneously directed a little photo shoot on my in-law's front porch.

My two dapper guys, senior pic style.

Joanie (See Jane Wear + Be Festive)

F21 faux fur stole (similar), J Crew factory sweater (last seen here), J Crew pencil skirt (similar/cheaper), Gap tights, Prada booties, Celine bag
My current workplace lacks a real dress code but for the first four years out of college, I lived in business casual.  So, every once in awhile, I like to change it up by dusting off the ol' pencil skirts and donning them at the office.  Wearing this outfit today, I felt very 'Joan Holloway' at the Sterling Cooper holiday office party.  In fact, I almost started my own conga line.

Snug (See Jane Wear)

Marc by Marc Jacobs coat (old), Gap scarf, American Vintage sweater, Madewell skirt (old but similar), 3.1 Phillip Lim bag, Target socks (similar), Joie boots (c/o)
This scarf cracks me up.  Don't get me wrong, I love it, but come on--it's huge!  But it's also, cozy, perfect for a chilly office and large enough that it somehow conceals a bad hair day.  Now that I think about it, this scarf is pretty awesome; now I feel bad for mocking it.

Do As I Say... (See Jane Wear)

J Crew coat, Gap sweater, French Connection skirt (old), 3.1 Phillip Lim bag, Enzo Angiolini boots,  ScoopNYC neck warmer, CatbirdNYC rings (c/o and an awesome gift idea!)
Do as I say, not as I do is the old adage we've all heard.  I always tell my clients at work that when you live in a freezing city like Chicago, that the more coats, the merrier.  They're essentially an outfit in itself and you spend more than enough time wearing them.  Well, from what you've seen, I only wear this coat.  That may be true, but do as I say, not as I do (I do wear other coats, though--I promise).

For the Boys (See Jane Gift)

Shopping for men is never easy.  I know there are a million other gift guides out there (and they're all awesome and great for ideas) but I thought I'd make one for the guys--they're a tough bunch!  And seeing as I work in in industry that caters to them, I thought I'd add some of my expertise.

1. Trunk Club gift card - Give the gift of style AND work directly with me--what a win-win situation!*
2. Beer glasses - Apparently Eric is too good to drink his craft beers out of my stemless wine glasses.
3. Club Monaco Pocket Square - Pocket squares for men are like necklaces for women--a great way to add some personality to any outfit (or blazer).
4. J. Crew Leather Dopp Kit - Because the toothpaste-stained nylon one he owns embarrasses you every time at the airport.
5. Mossimo socks - We sell fun socks at Trunk Club and well, guys just love 'em.
6. Leatherman Pocket Tool - My dad never leaves home without his Leatherman, which is a solid endorsement if I've ever heard of one.
7. Mr. Bar-B-Q Grill Set - Time to man the grill, man.
8. J. Crew Leather iPhone Case - For those prone to dropping/shattering.
9. Mougin & Piquard x J. Crew watch - A stylish yet relatively inexpensive watch says, 'I care, but not enough to get you a Rolex."
10. 'How to Raise a Gentleman' - In case he's not sure (hey, we could all use some tips)...

*If you want to be sure the man (and you) in your life works with me, please reference my blog or name (Anna Jane) when you sign up.  Or email me directly: anna@trunkclub.com

The Morning After (See Jane Wear)

Gap hat + sweater (both old), H&M jeans, Joie boots (c/o), BB Dakota fur vest (old but similar), 3.1 Phillip Lim bag
The morning after a fun night is never easy; it's especially difficult when you have set plans and important errands that need tending to.  I've said it before and I'm bound to say it again, but I'm just not a hat person.  Still, I try and wear them from time to time and find they're a great way to look somewhat put together on a cold day.

Hope you all had a great weekend!
