Christmas Cookie Traditions (See Jane Plan to Make)

toffee + chocolate saltines
The sad truth is that I haven't made any Christmas cookies yet this year.  Blasphemous, I know, but I honestly don't know where the month has gone.  I'm heading back to my parents' house on Thursday and know my mom will be wanting to do a little baking.  Since I haven't made anything yet, I scoured Pinterest for a roundup of treats familiar to me.  Here's just a few of the old standbys that my family has been making every year since I was a wee one.

  3. Too many. My favorites are a sort of cakey chocolate cookie my grandma made with a coffee-chocolate frosting. They're phenomenal!

  8. I haven't made a single Christmas cookie, either. Honestly, I don't love the very traditional ones. I would take a big hunk of the toffee graham cracker praline thing though :)

  11. I'm on my second round of making Spritz cookies this holiday season. They remind me of my childhood (my grandmother made them every Christmas).

  14. The toffee chocolate saltines look yummy! For me, it's gingerbread cookies. A little boring, but they are so fun to decorate.
