Fly (See Jane Travel)

I'm leaving for my honeymoon on Monday and am trying to mentally prepare myself for the long haul ahead.   When deciding on a destination, Eric and I chose the farthest place that my airlines miles would take us; enter:  Bali.  With three flights and well over 21 hours on a plane ahead of me, it's safe to say that I'm a little anxious about such lengthy journey.  Then, I shake my head and realize that I'm going to Bali and all is well with the world again.

Several books, magazines and movies will keep me company on the flights, but what's most important is what I wear on the plane.  I'm not a huge fan of wearing my pajamas to the airport, perhaps all the years of corporate business travel trained me out of that.  Instead, I look for comfortable yet wearable pieces that I will be able to wear throughout my trip (my motto is to pack light so you can bring more home).

1. J. Crew Stripe Sweater -  Planes are freezing.  Even in the summer.
2. Missoni Patterned Cashmere/Silk scarf - I much prefer cuddling up to my own scarves rather than scratchy, airline pillows.
3. The Row Curved-Square Sunglasses - When you step off the plane after 20+ hours of traveling, trust me, the darker the better.
4Evian Mist - Even if it is just water in a spray bottle, it makes you feel luxurious (even if you're in the last row by the restrooms).
5. Candy/Magazines - Self-explanatory.
6. Skullcandy Roc Nation Headphones - Because they're cuter than the Bose headset on the guy in business class.
7. Proenza Schouler PS1 Keep All - A dream tote but could definitely hold my contact solution along with computer and magazines.
8Sperry Gold Topsider - My dad always told me to wear closed-toe shoes on planes and I still do to this day.
9. Splendid Leggings - Leggings, though just a step up from sweatpants, are a Godsend for traveling women.

Love this, I'm planning to go to america next summer for the first time and although it's a 12 hour flight, not so much like your 21 hour! It will be the first long haul flight for me and I'm dreading it!
This collection makes it look like it can be all the more bearable. Love the scarf it looks so soft.

And I love your travel outfit - the sperry's are perfect, and I am SO with you on the scarf thing... there is nothing more comforting in over air-conditioned public places! I totally agree! I never, ever travel in pants or anything else with a waistband that's not made of elastic. Torture! And slip-on shoes are a must.

Have so much fun in Bali! I've always dreamed of going there!

Long flights are definitely hard, but I love outfits like this. I think leggings look so chic on planes, when paired with a nice sweater...and you don't look like you rolled out of bed! Have an amazing honeymoon, sounds like it will be beautiful :)

Love all of it! As a bi-coastal gal, traveling back and forth from NY to LA, I get it! I was so intrigued about your dad telling you to wear closed toe shoes! Any "specific" reason? I always do also, just because my feet are always freezing and other peoples feet on planes gross me out! They should be covered up!

It IS always freezing on planes so the outfit is a must--including the headphones JUST in case you need to avoid someone trying to ask you 70000 questions.

Have a great trip!!

@Tracy - not to be a total downer/spaz but my dad LOVES flying however, when we traveled as together when I was a kid he would have us wear closed-toe shoes "in case of an emergency." (i.e. if you have to deplane or run, i suppose)

I don't think I could be more envious you're going to Bali. You're going to have such an amazing experience, enjoy every minute C:

This is a great travel list as well! comfy but still cute. don't forget gum if your ears get sensitive and even though a neck cushion might look stupid..it's totally worth the embarrassment. I just went to China a few months ago and decided on the flight back that it was just necessary!
