Maximize (See Jane Go Long)

Throughout the past few months, it’s seemed like all fashionable ladies have been letting out their hems and donning longer skirt lengths.  Ever since junior high, when long skirts first started making an appearance, I participated in the trend, but always felt awkward in floor-skimming lengths.  I’m on the taller side, so I felt the silhouette wasn’t doing any favors to my pre-teen figure (see: body of adolescent boy).  Well, the long skirts are back and I’m dying to try it again.  I ran into a bit of a caveat while shopping with my fiancé awhile back; I showed him the long skirt I was about to try on and he replied, “Are you Amish now?”  Note to self: when I do muster up the courage to wear a floor length skirt, don’t test it out on him.

Until then, I will admire these lovely ladies who make a long skirt look especially good (and I know the fiancé would definitely approve–just look at them!):
